Special Issue on the 14th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS'08) WIP Session

This special issue on CPS Working-In-Progress (WIP) includes the top papers from the WIP Session of the 14th IEEE Real-Time and Embedded Technology and Applications Symposium (RTAS'08). RTAS'08 WIP session collected some of the latest on-going research ideas and results in real-time and embedded systems. 25 papers have been selected to appear in this session. Among them, 4 best papers, selected according to reviews from the program committee, are presented in this special issue. The first paper (Zhu and Tosun) looks at energy efficient data collection in wireless sensor networks. Then the following two papers (Luong, Deogun and Goddard, Sanati and Cheng) describe novel scheduling strategies for cluster and multiprocessor systems. The final paper (Giani, Karsai, Roosta, Shah, Sinopoli, Wiley) deals with the security of a real-time monitor and control system. We hope that you will find this issue stimulating and rewarding.

Our special thanks go to all of the authors, the RTAS'08 WIP program committee and the SIGBED Review Editors.
